Dark Souls 3 reviews: all the scores

Finally: the Dark Souls 3 review embargo has arrived.

It’s been an odd few weeks of drip-feed information for those fans eagerly awaiting verdicts on From Software’s latest hardcore RPG. Early release in Japan means many of the most fervent series loyalists were playing over two weeks ago – especially after everyone realised you could download an early English-language version of Dark Souls 3 via both console networks, with a bit of fiddling.

That and a much earlier embargo fore video content means there’s loads of information out there already. Not all of it is based on final code, and there are differences between the western and Japanese builds, but still: an unusual situation. It’s all been a bit of a mess, really.

But you know what’s not a mess? Dark Souls 3. In our review, Alex Donaldson describes Dark Souls 3 as a middle ground between the last two games – and extremely good as a result. I’ve also been having a terrific time with it, especially the multiplayer.

But you don’t have to take our word for it. Here’s what everyone else said, too.

Scores out of ten except where otherwise noted. We’ll add more reviews as they go live.

Dark Souls 3 launches next week for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
